N&A | Liberty Hall Theater| Lawrence Kansas Wedding

July 5, 2014

Photos from Nick and Ashley’s wedding in Lawrence Kansas held at the historic Liberty Hall Theater by Jerry Wang Photography.

Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty details.

N & A. We met at a Bowling Alley in January 2008 through mutual friends. I thought that Nicholas was a total nerd for a long time. Then he swept me off my feet two years later in June 2010 when we started dating.

When did you know he / she was the one? Was there something he / she did?

A. I knew that Nicholas was the one right after we adopted our kittens (their names are Don and Rodger). I realized how patient and caring he really is, and I knew that I never wanted to let that go.

N. After we got to know each other as friends, we became really close. I knew that I wanted to be with Ashley forever.

Tell us about the proposal (did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? How did you feel? Nervous, excited, freaking out?)

A. It was a total surprise! When we went to NYC in June 2013, Nick unpacked our suitcase upon arrival and put the box right there on the bed. I kept saying “WHAT IS THIS?!” It was amazing. We didn’t tell our friends and family until about a month later.

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.

A. I love Nicholas’ sense of humor. He always knows exactly what to say to make me laugh, and he always brightens my day not matter what is going on anywhere else.

N. I love that we have a lot of things in common with each other and I can talk to Ashley about anything. I’ve never had to be anything but myself around her.

If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.

A. Nicholas collects Michael Jordan shoes and he has always had at least one pair since I’ve known him!

N. Ashley shakes every beverage that she drinks because she thinks it will get “stale” otherwise.

What inspired your décor or theme?

A & N. We wanted to keep out decor simple and elegant. Navy is a classic, and we had a lot of help from friends and family with putting everything together.

What’s one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?

A. I wish I would have known how much it was going to cost! This is the most money we’ve ever spent on anything, but we’ve done a great job of saving every last penny. This will be the best party we will ever throw!
