Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book with you?

  • Most brides book 6 to 9 months in advance. May, June, and September are typically the first to be filled so contact us early if you are planning a wedding during those months!

Do you carry insurance?

  • We carry liability insurance for our business and we are happy to provide proof of insurance to any venue that requires it.

How many weddings do you photograph a year?

  • To provide our clients with the best service, we are limited to 25 weddings a year.

How soon after the wedding can I see my photos?

  • You should expect to see your wedding photos and album layout approximately two weeks after the wedding. Occasionally during the busy summer season, this may be extended to four weeks depending on our travel schedule.

How do I reserve a date?

  • To reserve a wedding date, we require a signed contract and a $1,000 non-refundable retainer. The remaining balance will be due at the pre-wedding consultation.

How many photos will I receive?

  • Since every wedding is different, we can’t make an exact guarantee on how many photos you will receive. From past experience, we typically deliver around 50-75 fully edited photos per hour of coverage.

Do I get a copy of all of the photos from the wedding?

  • After the wedding, we will edit through all of the photos taken during the day by both photographers. During the process, we first remove any outtakes (blinking eyes, misfires, unintentional photo bombs). The remaining photos are then individually edited (color adjustments, cropping, ect). If there are duplicate moments, or photos that were taken within a second of each other that are essentially the same in all regard, we remove those from the final collection as well. All of the photos that remain after the editing process are what you will receive with your package.

Do you travel for out-of-state weddings?

  • We love to travel! It’s one of the best perks of our job. Weddings that are located more than 75 miles from Lawrence, Kansas are subject to a traveling fee. We always try to arrive the day before the wedding to allow time to get a feel for the location and attend the rehearsal.

Do you carry back up equipment?

  • Heck yes! We couldn’t imagine photographing a wedding without them! We each shoot with two camera bodies at all time and we both keep a third one (along with lenses, flashes, cards) in the bag for back up.

What type of products do you offer?

  • In addition to our wedding album collections and traditional prints, we offer coffee table books, canvas wraps, aluminyzed metal prints, press printed cards, and many more!

How long are print and album credits good for?

  • Print and album credits are valid for one year after your wedding?

Who designs your wedding albums?

  • We do all of the post processing and album design in house. The story of your wedding day is best told by someone who was there to witness the magic. This is why we don’t trust anyone else to do the work for us.

How would you describe your photography style?

  • We take a very photojournalist approach to our wedding photography coverage. The only photos we active pose are the family formals and the creative formals with the bridal party.

Do you edit all of the photos that will be on our USB flash drive?

  • Yes! We process all of the photos on your flash drive through our standard workflow. This includes color correction, exposure adjustment, sharpening and cropping.

What happens if we go over the coverage time included in our contract?

  • We understand that wedding days may not always go as planned. At the end of your coverage time, we will consult you to see if additional time is necessary. The hourly rate for our photography team is $300 which includes both photographers.

How does the album design process work?

  • Please see our wedding album guide for all of the information regarding our wedding albums.

Do you charge sales tax?

  • For clients located in the state of Kansas, we are required by law to charge local and state sales tax on all of our products and services. The current tax rate for our location is 9.05%.
